~ About Us ~
My name is Betty Hall. I grew up on a farm in North East Texas. After retiring, I moved with my husband (of 60 years) back to North East Texas on a farm close to the tiny town where we were raised.It looks different now. The grass really is greener. You can actually see stars shining in the night sky. The moon has gotten bigger and brighter. And when it rains, especially on a spring day everything gets refreshed and made new again.
We began looking for a few acres of land, with no house. We wanted to build our own. My husband did have one announcement, NO COWS. Just think about living smack in the middle of farm country without cows. As you can guess, that didn't last long.
Today, we have many more acres and many, many cows.
Oh yes, there was an
Old House on the land. No one had lived there for some time and we parted the weeds and walked to the front door. I immediately fell in love with that house. I could see the possibility of living there while we built our new home.
So, we went to work! There was land to be cleared, fences to build, and a house to be repaired.
The
Repaired House was ready to be moved into after many months of hard work. After living in this house for one and a half years, we moved into our new farmhouse just a short distance away.
We have a Border Collie named Riley, Cotten the cat, and Brangus cattle. We raise hay, garden, and tend to our farm animals. I also like to sew, paint, and make crafts. After moving out of the old house, I used it to open up a craft and gift store.
I love
My Workshop. This is where most of my crafts are made. I cut my own wood, paint, hammer and nail, and just have fun creating.
