~ The Old Farmhouse ~
We are located in beautiful North East Texas, in the little country town of Cookville.
This is the old farmhouse and barn located on our farm. The house was originally built in 1856. At least this is what I have been told by the old-timers in the area. It started out as a two story log house with a dog-trot in the center of the house.
The logs can still be seen behind the walls in the living area. The County line dividing Titus County and Morris County runs directly through the hall in the center of the house. It still sits today on its stacked rock foundation; however it could use a little leveling job.
The house is now being used as a craft and gift shop. We named our shop "The Quilted Basket". When you are traveling in this area, please stop by for a visit. Most of our crafts are made in a little workshop nearby.
We are open on Friday and Saturday only. Our business hours are 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. However, we will be glad to open anytime during the week if you will just give us a call and let us know when you would like to visit.
The old barn still has the feed troths which were originally hewed from logs.
